Otilia Buantello-Enriquez was born and raised in Uvalde, Texas. and then had an opportunity to go to school at Saddleback College in Irvine/Mission Viejo California while her brother was stationed at the Marine base in Tustin, California.

She met her husband and moved to Flint, Michigan and settling in Lansing, Michigan.  Their three children were born and attended school in Michigan, until her husband had an opportunity to transfer to North Texas. She had time to volunteer for the sports or activities our children have participated in and as a stay at home parent it has included; youth religious activities, Football, Baseball, Softball mom, Soccer co-coach, chaperone, Elementary School yearbook editor, translator and Uki/Judo trainer/coach.  Her youngest traveled to Canada, South America and Africa as Team USA in Judo. She was approached about learning another martial arts, Hanbo (stick fighting), that might be something to partake in the near future.

As an empty nester, she has spent time volunteering with a few nonprofits and have found them educational and rewarding.  Her family volunteers monthly at the East Cleburne Community Center in Cleburne at their food bank.  She is currently studying parliamentary procedure with the Crossroads Unit in Dallas.  She had the opportunity to attend the Biennial 2023 Texas Secretary of State Election Law Seminar in Austin.  It was reassuring to hear the Secretary of State, Jane Nelson reiterate how many safeguards are in place for fair and secure elections in Texas. She has been deputized to register voters in previous years in Johnson and Uvalde County. In 2023 she participated in a three day voter registration drive at Uvalde’s Labor Day and Palominofest.

She looks forward to keeping our communities informed on issues that might impact them
