Jetta Eileen Roberts, 92, of El Paso,TX passed away 5/22/22 at her residence.
Born in New York, NY on 4/25/30 to James and Mae Hollywood. She married Alfred S. Roberts Jr. (Stan) in Venice, CA 1948. Jetta was particularly proud of her dad Jimmy Hollywood, who was one of the original Radio Rogues – major radio, Broadway and silent film stars. Jetta loved being a part of her husband’s military life that brought them to El Paso and Ft. Bliss in 1956 after returning from Germany. Jetta enjoyed being a hair stylist, working in salons and sometimes from home, including while stationed in Kwajalein. She loved Northeast El Paso and was active in civic activities working to improve it.
This led to her active role participating and then leading the Northeast El Paso Civic Association. Jetta supported her husband during his 4 terms as a Northeast El Paso City Councilman. She was later elected for 14 terms as a Texas Silver Haired Legislature member promoting elder care legislation and was still serving in that role. She as a result was honored numerous times by Texas House Resolutions. Jetta was instrumental writing and getting passed the Texas Patient Bill of Rights.
Jetta is preceded in death by her husband Stan, her parents, and her nine siblings. She is survived by her children Michael, Jetta Lynn, Beverly and Stan (Spanky), her seven grandchildren and her ten great grandchildren.
